The Royal Caribbean's newest cruise ship, Quantum of the Seas “the world's first smartship”, had just completed its eight-night maiden voyage from Southampton, United Kingdom to Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne.
The cruise company began attempt to sell the features of its massive, technologically cutting-edge vessel “Quantum of the Seas,” ahead of its maiden voyage in three months time.
Quantum of the Seas features unprecedented first-at-sea features and amenities such as super fast wireless connectivity, the world's first robotic bartenders, a skydiving simulator, bumper cars, futuristic entertainment and partnerships with celebrated chefs Jamie Oliver, Michael Schwartz and Devin Alexander.
For many, its standout feature will be the ship's bionic bartenders. Cocktails and other drinks can be ordered using one of the bar's tablets, after which it's simply a case of sitting back to watch the robots knock your order together.
The Quantum will also feature WI-FI with speeds that “rival those on land,” Xbox One gaming stations, videoconferencing facilities (for workaholics, presumably), and RFID-enabled wristbands that you can use as a room key as well as to purchase items from the ship's stores and bars.
The 16-deck, 213-foot high vessel is the third largest cruise ship ever built and can hold nearly 5,000 passengers.
Quantum is Royal Caribbean's first new ship since the 2010 debut of the 225,282-ton Allure of the Seas, which is tied with sister vessel Oasis of the Seas as the world's largest cruise ship.
